My First Love

It all started in elementary school when my fifth grade teacher picked me to lead the other students in creating a mural for the cafeteria. This inspired to experiment with different art media -- from oils to watercolor and pen and ink. I won a number of awards and enjoyed it all. But during high school, I fell in love with the pencil. I learned architectural drafting, integrated it with my artistic talent, and formed a shading technique that just couldn't be created with anything like graphite.   

I went on to study under professional astists, Guy Diehl and Joe Price. Then, throughout 25 years working as an artist, covering the Bay Area's many wine and art festivals, I learned how recreate the important moments in people's lives -- all on paper.  

What Do I Do?

First, I enjoy bringing happiness to people. That is why I specialize in fine, photorealistic pencil renderings. Whether it's just because or for a special occasion, be it celebrating a milestone birthday, wedding, anniversary, christening or other religious event, my portraits cover:
